inaccurate tach

I have a 90 IROC convertable, and the tack is showing about 2000rpm higher than what is really turning. The motor is running pretty good, and the tach needle is moving smoothly. Anyone have any ideas?

Has it always done this. Did you just switch your speedometer??

I don't know, it belongs to a collector I work for. I know, can you believe it? A thrid gen collector! In other words I don't know, I think I have driven the car more than him.
