How to Lower oil Pan?

How to Lower oil Pan?

How many bolts will i have to remove to lower the oil pan so i can take off the timing cover?

I just lowered my oil pan and i only had to take the 4 front bolts off both sides. i didnt have to take out 18.

This is a question that will get a lot of different answers. Myself, I removed all of them. Some people will try and take the timing cover off with only a few oil pan bolts removed and they end up having to bend the oil pan down. This will only BEND the oil pan and it wont ever seal right. Just my 2 cents. Why take shorts cuts when your already down there. AND, some people and tech articles say you can remove the timing cover without touching the pan. Its just one of those things that it depends on the engine.
