what RPM does the starter normally turn the engine on a 350?

Good starter, good battery, good connections? Probably about 175-225 RPM.

that's what I'm getting....still won't start, though, and all 8 cyls. have spark......is a 3v drop in voltage normal when cranking?

I'll get this thing running yet.

A 3V drop is not abnormal. The ignition system should be able to deliver a spark down to about 7.5V.
