Can't search so here's one for ya. Look at this auction:

Are these the same Speed Pro moly rings that Summit sells for $90.95? If they are, I'm all over 'em! Seems like a quantum price diff to me. What do ya'll think?

Call Summit- don't just look in the catalog. I bought a set of Speed Pro Moly rings for my latest motor from Summit- $35 or thereabouts. They are NOT the $90 rings. They're just a cheap set of Moly rings. Still pleny good for a street motor, but not the same thing as the $90 set.

Thanks Damon. That's what I was thinking. Ya gotta be careful fooling around on ebay. I'm gonna go over to Speed Pro's website and research the part #'s some, their site is pretty good with lots of tech info. They have a good tutorial about piston rings that's worth reading.

Good info in there.

I bought some of these ring sets along with some .060 forged pistons and the code on the side of the ring box is:

(theres two for some reason)

R-9902 60
2M-5523 60

Mine might have been 90 something dollars but I remeber them being about 99. Hope this helps.

BTW, I think these are the ones I bought:

No. Those are the ultimate cheeeeep rebuilder's rings. Typical e-bay.

Get the real thing. Consider how much expense and trouble they are to change, in case they don't work very well. Would you accept $60 to fix all that for somebody? I didn't think so.

Yea, as we say here in Alabammy, "them ain't it!" I'm with you on that one RB. I'm always cautious on ebay. I have, like most folks, found some great deals on good stuff, but that one was throwing up red flags. No thanks. I'll pay the extra 60 clams!

A word to the wise dont buy stuff like that from e-bay unless you wann tear the motor down soon. Who knows what is in the box. Summitt, Jegs, and Northern auto parts have what you need and the shipping will be less than what you would pay on e-bay. From what I read on this site buyer beware on e-bay atleast with the reputable companies you know what your getting. They have too much to loose by switching boxes and selling junk.
