2 piece rear seal

Anybody ever change one of these if so how do you get the lower piece out ?

Engine: L92/LQ4 (both w/4" stroke)
Transmission: 4L80E/4L80E
Axle/Gears: 12B-3.73/9"-3.89
You have to drop the oil pan.

The lower one is the easy one - just remove the rear main cap and pop it out. The upper one is a little tougher without removing the crank, but basically you push on one side, grab on the other and pull it out. The new one is inserted in opposite fashion.
