roller lifters

I am in the process of a cam swap and other misc. things, I dont get much time to work on the car so it is taking longer than it should. Anyways, I felt that the safest way to store my roller lifters was to keep them in oil. I have each one in a baby food jar submerged in new oil, is this going to cause any problems when I put them back in and try to adjust my valve lash,as far as "pump up" or anything like that is concerned ? I dont know exactly how hydraulic roller lifters work but I thought they actually have a small amount of oil in them This may be a dumb question but I'm still learning. They are factory lifters from a 1990 5.7. Thanks for any replies !
