is this normal?

i am still hunting down a bad idle/stumbling prob, and while the car was running i unplugged the tps. the motor idled to about 1100rpm and held steady without missing a beat. is this normal?

ofcourse i am not totally positive, but the primary job of the TPS is to see what you want the engine to do and how the computer can best meet the situation, check your Idle Air Stabalizer

is the motor supposed to do that with the tps unplugged when the motor is running?

Without a TPS, the ECM will enter Backup Fuel and Spark mode. It will presume a fuel rate based on other inputs, like RPM, MAP/MAF sensor readings, and CTS. It is only intended to get you home or to a service center to repair the problem. Predicting how that will affect other problems is nearly impossible, but Backup fuel is normally WAY rich just to keep the engine running.
