is this normal?
i am still hunting down a bad idle/stumbling prob, and while the car was running i unplugged the tps. the motor idled to about 1100rpm and held steady without missing a beat. is this normal?
Without a TPS, the ECM will enter Backup Fuel and Spark mode. It will presume a fuel rate based on other inputs, like RPM, MAP/MAF sensor readings, and CTS. It is only intended to get you home or to a service center to repair the problem. Predicting how that will affect other problems is nearly impossible, but Backup fuel is normally WAY rich just to keep the engine running.
