How to store an engine?

Might be stripping my 83 Z (needs new doors, hatch, rusted floor pans & leaks real bad). Will be removing the intake/carb to sell. Engine will remain in car with closed hood outside minus carb/intake. Will I need to drain the fluids? Any other precautions to take?

Thanks,
Brandon

i would say dont drain the fluids.. oil prevents rust! also cover the lifter vally with something water proof.. a garbage bag with some sort or weigh like rocks on top would be a decent temp solution..

Duct tape something over the intake ports and lifter valley, a thick sheet of plastic or something. Clean all the surfaces with thinner or other solvent so the duct tape sticks good.
