aluminum pulleys

Are there any company's making these polished pulleys for the 85-87 carbed (lg4,l69) motors. The pulleys on my engine are a combo Serpentine - V pulley. Has anyone taken their originals and brackets and had them chromed. Thinkin' $$$$, right?

Aluminum Powder Coat might look better if your going for the look.
...and is probably alot cheaper...

You can check out March pulleys to see if they have what you need.

Thanks ron, I wonder if I can get a 3 groove crank pulley, 2 groove water pump pulley, and change my alternator pulley to make use of these polished alum. pulleys on the market? Anyone?

HA HA HA, I told you they were pricey

Yea, thats the full kit (brakets, pulleys), I think I got a set of pulleys only for 250 bucks(6 grove Serpentine pulleys) or something like that. Maybe 70 for the power steering pulley.

It's those damn brakets!!! The Alt braket is 75-100 bucks by itself. You can buy it in pieces, and that well save you from the price shock

Ron.. Looks pretty nice.... That's what I'm going for... Yeah, I priced just the pulleys at $209.00, but that included the v- groove for a smog pump that I will not be putting back one there. So I thought, Hey, that kit would take car of my needs Yeah, I knew the$$$$ would climb, But Damn!

I went with:

Serpentine High Water Flow set MCH-6380 191.95
Serpentine Power Steering Pulley MCH-624 72.39
Brushed Aluminum Alt bracket MCH-20121 63.95
Total: 328.29

I bought the alt bracket a month after the pulleys.
I still havn't goten around to buying the PS bracket.

I honestly don't know what your looking at to match what you have, but if you don't have to deal with the AC, you can keep it simple - like what I did.
There all six ribs, and I'm not throwing belts at 6000+rpms(the reason why I got them, that and there light so it takes a little off my rotating mass)
I think my stock crank pulley weighed in more than my whole aluminum set.

Yeah, That's why the kit looked good.. Gotta have the 'ol A/C. After seein how much you've got invested , I can understand the price... And of course the fact that I'm a machinist. I well understand what it takes to pay a CNC lathe man plus equip. and materials. Sure appreciate all the info Ron. Definately gonna do something alum. there. Are you runn'in an alum. water pump also? Richard

Anytime

Yea, the pump is a Edelbrock Victor Series, and straight up cost around $150. But well worth it in the weight saving, and cooling.

This has been my little project car. I like to call it my 82 Winston Cup wanna be
I hope to do a little road racing with it...

You want to talk about money, ohhh man my next task is brakes !!!!!!!

Looks like alot of time and perf. parts invested. I'm keeping my interior stock in the T/A , but I plan on doing a nice engine dress-up. Looking at the Weiand Action - plus pump myself. Thanks for the extra pics. I hope to get some up in a signature when the weather looks good. I don't think we've seen sunshine here in W. Ky more than 3 times this Feb.

You to!!! It's been snowing on & off all week. Even though I have a big forced air heater in the garage, it takes forever to heat up to do any work - especially at ground level where I need to put an end to a damn trannie leak.
As soon as it hits the high 40's, I'm on it
