Need to know a little more about the 350 and your 305.
The basic answer is "everything, unless...", and the "unlesses" will depend upon the year and type of each.

Basically it is all the same except for the bottom end of the motor (pistons, crank, etc.) So, you can use your heads, intake, oil pan, everything from the block up....oh, and you can use the 305 cam too....
Correct me if I am wrong.....

The cam will only work if both blocks are the same type ie both 1pc rear seals or both 2pc rear seals. He will need a 350 balancer. I am not sure if the flex plate/ fly wheel will work. I am pretty sure they will. heads and up will bolt on no problem.

The 350 flywheel is only $17 at advanced auto parts.
You can reuse the ditributor but not the EGR as the EGR is a little different. You'll need to get a new water temp sensor for the 350 as the 305's block sensor is smaller. Please, do the math for the compression, 305 heads are 58 cc stock 350 heads are ~72-76cc.

How is the 305 EGR different from 350 EGR?
305 heads were 58cc, but 350 heads came in 64cc, 72cc, 76cc, etc. All 3rd gen 350 heads were 64cc. With 6cc dished pistons, the CR of a 350 with 58cc 305 heads would be the same as the CR of a 350 with 64cc heads. That's assuming both have the factory steel shim head gaskets. Put the "normal" rebuild thick composition head gaskets on, a 350 with 58cc heads would be the same (or even less) than a 350 with 64cc heads and steel shim gasket.

Read the bottom where he states what the compression ratio would be with 58cc heads.

exacto!!!
that's what i'm doing on my 350,
i have a choice between truck crappy heads (193) the originals that were worst (76cc, 1.74 I valves) or a fresh set of 416 heads (305HO), 3 angled, ported and new valve guides, still 1.84 I valves, but it can't be worst than what it had.
i dont fear detonation because of the low cranking compression of my cam. (it should jump fron 150 to ...say...180?)
anyway, for all, i'll do some research once its running and post it, as info for everyone to share.
Fernando.
