Underdrive pullies??????
Underdrive pullies??????
Well i'm starting to wonder what has been done to my car before i bought it. ive had to replace the belt twice and both times when they look it up in the computer the belt they give me is too big, so i just get the number off the old belt. also my alternator doesn't charge as much as it should(not sure of the voltage meter either). do you think i already have underdrive pullies??
Bandit,
By "too big" I'm presuming you mean too long. How much longer is it than you need? If it is only an inch or two, you may have an uunderdrive sheave onthe crank, or an aftermarket replacement part, like a PS pump with the wrong sheave diameter or a tensioner with the wrong idler size. If the belt is several inches too long, you may have a removed component and rerouted belt.

Measure the diameter of your crank pulley. I dont know what it should be off the top of my head, but if you post the diameter of the crank pulley, someone will be able to go out to their car and verify. No point in you, i or anyone else guessing, it's as easy to check as that.
