cam specs needed
Im converting my 82 LG-4 trans am from it's stock carburator to crossfire injection, so the question is did the two engines use the same cam, if they didn't in what way were they different, and has anyone run a crossfire system on a LG-4 and passed emmisions.
no need to bash cfi conversion here, I know my carb setup will out perform cfi but right now the car don't run very good anyways, I do have a complete tpi system that I might also consider but I said I need to know that my cam will be compatible

Your original cam is listed as either the 14088839 or 14088841. The 8839 lists 0.373"/0.410" lifts, but I couldn't find duration data. I'm guessing it was similar to the other 305 grinds used during those days and around 195°/203°.
I suspect the mild cam was for the "plain" carbed 305. Dealer records don't specify whether the cams were for carb or EFI engines.
The L69 HO engine used the 12523897, 202°/206°, 0.403"/0.415", 115° LSA.
I suspect that the original cam is likely very mild for either engine, although the CFI was rated at 190 HP, so it could easily have shared the cam with the L69. In any event, the cam should probably be changed to something more suited to making power at lower RPM, since the CFI was intended to be a torque producing system. Head passages are likely small, and valves are probably suitable for those heads, so don't expect a lot unless you do a little head work. You might want to find a set of 416 heads and decent cam if you;re going to all that trouble. The CFI should work fine with those.
