Wow, Tracked down oil burning and fuel smell

yessir. when i first started my car i thought there was a SERIOUS piston ring problem. it smoked like no ones buisness. whenever the car came to a stop it would just start SMOKING from, like, NO WHERE. not just the exhaust, but the engine would smoke. i figured it was just the leftover paint burning off the headers. this went on for, say, 3 months. lots of paint eh?

then i was under it one day, and noticed a FUEL LEAK dripping down onto the exhaust. I couldnt find it, however, there was NO WHERE for it to be LEAKING from!! STRANGE! i pull the exhaust off, and it went away. put the exhaust back on, it came back!

Well, the problems were actually related. see, theres a hole in my Y-pipe. its not big, mind you, its a pinhole. but it was big enough for fuel to leak out of when the engine was turned over cold, and didnt fire. well thats one problem solved.

Then i noticed the hole, one day, dripping OIL. yes oil. LOTS of oil, it seemed. well, i figured theres only one way for oil to get inside my Y-pipe, through the exhaust valve right?
WRONG.
Wow, but its convulted. My Crank case evacuation system (PCV) works off the exhaust... that is its connected from the valve cover to the exhaust header. turns out, it was sucking oil from the valve covers, into the tube to the header. the tube connected far enough downstream so the oil wouldnt burn, it would just cool the header and continue to do so. it would then work its way to the hole in the Y-pipe, and drip out, while burning slowly creating a forsaken oil leak / burn that would last whenever the car was running. It also explained where the oil under my car was coming from, every time i stopped i would find a puddle a few hours later. it also explained why i thought the car was burning oil, and had bad blow by.

Weird huh? Now i gota figure out how to keep my CVS(PCV) without having it suck oil. it really did help, see, now i see a slight amount of smoke coming from the breathers where before there was nothing.
