need help, quick question!

i am in the middle of removing my runners so i can polish them. i cant figure out how to get them off! i figured i could get them off without removing the plenum...but i couldnt. so i took off the plenum, i also took off the valve cover. It's hitting something but i cant figure out what. something is holding it in place.

what else needs to come off? it kind of looks like its hitting the head of a bolt that goes through the intake manifold. any help is appreciated!

The runners on each side have a long bolt that is screwed in the opposite way from the other bolts. You gotta get it with a long extension from the opposite side. On the driver's side I believe the bolt is towards the rear. On the passenger side it's towards the front. This is probably what's keeping them in place.

all of the bolts are out, and its loose, i can wobble it, but something is holding it up, like the fuel rail or something. i would assume you can get them of w/o pulling the fuel rails off. any ideas? ill go take a pic...

They definitely should come out without having to remove the fuel rail or valve covers, if all the bolts are out.

There are 6 bolts holding each runner to the intake manifold. This is really all you need to remove. From the pics it looks like they're ready to come out.

all 6 bolts were out, but yet it was still catching on sumthing. i think it was the fuel rail...but i wouldnt think that you would have to take off the fuel rail to do this task. i attempted to take off the fuel rail and broke two T40 torx bits in the process. The bolts on the fuel rail are waaaay tight. i gave up this weekend and put everything back together. another project for another weekend.

hopefully next time i will have all of the solutions in hand that way i wont get stuck again.
