l98 balance

ok i have a dumb question to ask. are the l98 350 engines externally or internally balanced? im looking for a high performance harmonic balancer and all the makers claim that 350s are internally balanced, but i just bought a new flexplate that has a counterweight on it. so it would seem to me that it is externally balanced. if anyone knows, i appreciate your response.

As far as the crank damper is concerned, they are internally balanced.

The flex plate has a tiny counterweight to make up for the uneven flange that the 2-piece RMS cranks used to have. The 1-piece crank motors are still considered to be internally balanced, in spite of this very small weight.
