Sure it will fit. You need all the wiring but it sounds like you have that. Just very time consuming to redo everything.
It's been done before a lot though.

On that note, I also found an LS-1 / 6 Speed complete, as well. this ones at TGresource, however, they want $3200 for it. I heard it needs special motor mounts, however.

Well let me consider, dont LT-1's have optispark? isnt that a pain to work with or somthing?

And arnt parts a bit hard to find / expensive for them?
and their compression is way up there, right?

Im just wondering if its a good thing to mess with, probably not.
what do most people with Lt-1's DO to them? do they rip them out or USE them? I know its a good motor but... better than say a procharged TPI camaro? err....

You'll probably find all the answers you need on the Motor Swap board. There's even a sticky about the 2 swaps you're asking about.
You're right about the Opti-spark. I've heard that it's prone to breakage, and expensive. There is an aftermarket replacement, but I don't remember what it was.

Also check camaroz28.com , they have a large membership, mostly LT1 owners. Also there are some 3rd gen and LS1 on there. From what I read the LT1 block becomes an issue around 800-900+ rwhp. I "think" the rotating assembly is similar to a stock L98 strength wise.

A '95 LT1 makes 275 hp stock a L98 make 245 hp stock. A supercharger L98 better hurt a stock or bolt on LT1. LT1's run low 14s-high 13s stock @ 98-102 mph.

If you have another few grand to spend plus the $3200 for the LS1 I'd do that. What year is it? the newer ones I think starting in 2001 come with the LS6 intake stock "a plus". A stock LS1 will make at least 330 hp bone stock. MY roommates 02 LS1 dynoed 329 rwhp(~380 flywheel hp) and 342 rwtq with only a cat-back and air lid. He ran 13.6 @ 109(orlando spinworld) Too bad he can't drive well.

Hmm i suppose it was just a passing fancy. I suppose what I REALLY Want out of the deal is the 6 speed, but those can be had for less. The guy will take $2200 for the LT-1 + 6 speed, he says, but im not sure if thats what I really need right now, I've got enough motor. I just need a drivetrain.. *sigh.

One of our sponsors had the entire 6spd swap kit with a used tranny for like $1400 or $1500 (I think it was TGresource too...) Look into that maybe. You might be able to find it cheaper on ebay or something too... I frankly don't see the money and effort being worth it with an LT1. They simply aren't powerful enough, and don't respond to mods any better than a standard 350. Takes all the bolt ons, plus a cam to get up to 300rwhp on average. As a matter of fact you throw a Stealth Ram on a otherwise stock L98 and you'll be putting down damn near the same numbers as the stock LT1...

Now an LS1 has a little bit more going for it but costs a whole lot, with full bolt ons plus a decent cam it can put out 375ish rwhp. Putting out like 300rwhp bone dead stock...
