heads
heads
I have a 1984 Z28 with the LG4 305 engine. I just pulled it out and found that the heads do not match. The drivers side head is casting number 14022601 and the pass side is 14014416.
Is it ok to reuse these heads or do i need to have a matched set?
Thanks,
George

They're not that much different. The 416 is the right head for the engine, and flows a little better; but on an otherwise stock LG4, it won't be a noticable difference.

Heads are off the car? Time to port/polish those suckers!
C'mon - don't let me be the only one out here attempting this with no prior experience! (I feel so alone and overwhelmed) Get electric die grinder from www.harborfreight.com for $50, a few bits and sanders, and have at it! I just bought my grinder today, and now, except for the fear factor, I'm ready to grind, grind, grind my way to a faster 305! (Somebody talk me outta this before I really screw up!)
