Hood insulation?

Well, my troubles keep multiplying and now I need to order hood insulation for my 92 bird. A rat got in there and tore it up pretty good but thankfully he didn't get any wires. If any of you are wondering, my car is under a carport with a car cover on it, and I come home every other weekend to drive it. Anyways, where can I order hood insulation from? Are there any kinds that are better than others? Thanks.

You can get a nice shiny one by Dynomat from SummitRacing.com for $60, go there and search for part # DYC-11905 . 'Course it's not original material, though. I think you can also buy them from yearone restoration, too... not sure of the website. I think http://www.amesperformance.com sells it, too.

It shows here on my receipt it was $36.89 but that was with a discount so it may be around $40.00 It may also be less now cause that was 1 year ago. The part number I got was #14099509 Now that was for my car but they may be the same or may not be...I dont know

Or you can just remove it....Mines been off for well over a year...no fading. Im about to get a cowl anyways which isnt gonna get any insulation.

Only difference Ive noticed is you can see waviness over the hood sometimes when its hot out. Guess from engine heat.

or in my cars case it's black, there where heat waves over it before and after I took my hood insulation off.. I can pretty much bet the sun heats up the black paint hotter than the engine can.
