corvette heads questions and concerns

I got a guy at work with some 89 aluminum corvette heads who wants to sell the to me for 200$. These should raise my compression about a point? Is this a good deal? What do you guys think?

Maybe. How much work do they need? Don't forget that you'll need hardened pushrods and non s/a rocker arms if you want to use guideplates. You'll also have to replumb your egr if you want to pass emissions, and you may need a different intake manifold for that. It'll raise your compression almost a full point, all else equal.

If they are in good shape they may be a decent deal. What are the casting numbers off them?
