Worth $2800.00????
Worth $2800.00????
Opinions please. Ran across a guy (or he ran across me cause he knows I have a couple F-bodies) who has an '88 Camaro. I'm assuming it's a sport coupe becaue the badges only identify it as a 'camaro' not an RS, IROC, or Z. Battery was dead, so I haven't heard it run. The last time it was painted the painter really screwed it up and all of the clearcoat is coming off in huge sheets. Has t-tops and looks to be original except for the paint. TBI 305/auto. All the power buttons, cruise, AC, T-tops, 140K miles. It is in overall average condition except that the paint looks reaaaaaaaaally bad. Assuming it runs out ok, is it worth $2800.00? I can probably get it for $2500.00 if I make a big deal out of the paint......

bring 1500$ cash and put it in his face if it runs well, it's not worth 3k.....i paid 4900$ for my 87 irocz which had 75k orig miles on the TPI 305, 90% decent factory paint, a perfect body(not anymore now, but it was when i bought it) and a pefect interior (the dash is immaculate). ttops, power everything, everything works....i think i overpaid a little, probably shoulda only paid like 4400$ for it but i needed a car....

There's a story/write up about it in the FAQ section of this website. It was mainly caused from the EPA ***** in California.
No, this is definately painter error. It was only painted a year ago, and the paint looks like most do after 10-12 years. The price seemed a little high to me too. I bought my '92 RS with 88K in near perfect condition for $4500.00. I think I'll pass. Thanks for the input guys......

A friend of mine recently bought an '89 305 TA with perfect paint, 76k miles that just needed some shocks and a tranny mount. Only one owner, the people he bought it from was the same address and name from the original owner listing put in the manual by the Dealership.
For $2,600.
