Okay my car makes this really weird humming noise from when i hit 40 mph only until i get to 60 mph. Before 40 its fine and after 60 its fine. Help! I dont know why it is doing this. Should I be worried or should I just add it to the list of things to be done. Let me know what you think I should do.

 

Try those same speeds in a different gear. That can help you determine if the noise is from the engine, transmission, or rear axle or other driveline parts.

 

I have tried it in different gears and it always does the same thing. I really shouldnt say always, but occasionally. like somdays it does it in all gears and somedays it doesnt do it all in any gears... I dont know Im lost on this one

 

Sounds like maybe a drive shaft issue, like a bad U-joint, or a loose pinion nut, or a worn extension housing bushing in the trans... if it still does it when you take it out of gear and coast, it can't very well be the engine.

 

It's not a BUZZing sound. is it? That choke relay bugs ya sometime when the ground is bad...

I replaced 2 before I found that out.
