rod knock
ok....so last fall i put in a new cam and got my heads redone on my 305.....since then ive put a few hundred miles on it....i noticed when i started the car up the oil pressure would go to 30...ok i dont have much experience but that sounded decent to me...but after driving it for a lil bit when you come down to a stop the oil pressure goes to 0-5 psi....very low.....now ive heard sometimes this can be from oil filters....quakerstate aka fram......ok after a while i learned to live with it...but a few days ago it developed a dull knock from the motor above 2200 rpm.....it doesnt take a genious to figure out what it is.....so i changed my oil and put in a new filter.....normal cam wearing in characteristics in oil......slight silvery in oil filter when i dumped it out.....but now the knock seems to be worse......can this be from that oil filter and or el cheapo oil??......is there any way to fix it?.....the knock is fairly loud but its only been here for about 2 miles......anything i can try before i goto the yard and grab a 350?

Not much ya can do man.
Same thing happened to my old 305. That rod bearing will just keep wearing down and that knock will keep getting louder.
Now go grab that new motor

it is a mechanical gauge and i changed the oil at about 500 miles which a few mechanics suggested to me that way the cam is fully wore in and you wont get any **** in your new oil......it was just slightly silvery oil comming out the oil filter when i dumped it upside down

How many miles are are your motor ?
I hate to say but with lack of oil pressure and a knock does'nt sound too good. I'd say that your motor might be heading South.

I'm hoping for a 355 this summer...Im just beginning port work on my 416's this weekend. There are some great threads going on right now about just that...Im gonna run the 327 this summer with the new top-end. then this winter I will pull it and swap all the parts onto a new 355ci. Short-block.
I would do a little asking around , and do some searches on proper break-in procedures, before firing up the new motor, You really should change the oil right after the cam break-in period. Think about it, You dont want that metal getting into bearings and all, even for 1 mile. You have come to the right place. There are years of knowledge(sp) right here at your disposal...Free! Cant tell you how much Ive learned in the last year and a half....to bad they don't give out certificates!!
