fiberglass stock hood

fiberglass stock hood

I have and 86 Z with the black louvers on the hood. The hood has seen better days. I want a fiberglass hood but i dont want a cowl hood. Does anybody know where i can find a stock fiberglass hood?

if you want a stock (gm) hood try gm parts, but i doubt that have it any longer. they were avaiable on the crossfire cars i believe. look on e bay, swap meets, and car shows. if you just want a stock appearing hood there are several makers of plastic parts, harwood, unlimited products, and a whole lot more.

they also had them on the 82-84 Z28's, i got a 83Z with the glass hood, light as hell.

does anyone know if these hoods were available in 85? my dad's 85z had one and he gave it to me for my 89 rs. it is not the funtional hood.

Mine is from an 82. I wish it was a flat hood. It had the louvers in it. I covered most of it with a hood scoop but still had to do some fiberglass work to fill the front indents in the hood from the lovers.

The steel hoods are very heavy. The factory fiberglass hoods are much lighter but are still heavy. I've lifted mine off by myself but it's better as a 2 man job. I'd like a real race fiberglass hood. Take off at least another 20 pounds and make lifting it off with one person a lot easier.
