Loud knock

Just firing my engine up....for the first couple times here....now...when the engine wants to stall (cold outside)...its starts knocking EXTREMELY LOUD!!!... but it only does this ..when its about to stall...i mean like 200RPM....it sounds like someone hamering on the black.............I dont know where my timing stands...I just lines up the rotor w/the #6 pin..............and after the cam install...and left it there...

Rob...

Piston slap maybe? That sometimes happens when engines are started in really cold weather.

It could be exhaust. I had a sound like this in my cat converter and the only way i knew it wasn't a rod knock was when i revved it up it turned into completely different noise that definately wasn't a bottom end noise.

It's not knocking any other time and oil pressure is good?

it could also be one of many other things wich are, a knock of course, or.... your transmission mount, engine mount, exhaust, as in my care, i heard a loud medal to medal knock when i'd let it idle, but i came to find out that my tranymission mount was sooo loose, so i tightened it up, and it was gone,
