power changes from day to day
from day to day my power will be different, some days it fells like it runs stronger than others without changing anything. one day it was so good that it would push you into the seat when you punched the gas at 50mph and fishtail when you accelerate from a stop. today it wouldn't even spin the tires and felt like it didn't want to go like it should. i did put headers on since the one real good day and the guy that did the y pipe put a 2" after the y(i'm going to take it back and have a new, better one made by a shop that builds race cars) and it seams weaker than having manifolds with a stock y with a 2.5" after the y. it would make sence being weaker now because it is pushing exhaust from 8 1 5/8" pipes into one 2" but would it make that much of a difference?

i don't think so, it idles good. the engine is pretty new, it has a new carb and intake and has only the vacume lines for the pcv, vacume advance, brakes, and heat/ac vents. it is completely non computer controled. it is still a posibility but i think it would affect the idle quality more if it was big enough the hurt the power a lot.

maybe your carb is just super moody, feed it more gas, they love it
seriously check the carb tuning though, and with headers your "break the tires loose torque" probably deminished a little in favor of upper end breathing, but it shouldnt be that significant
