Never heard of this before

Alright, today I was driving my car. Got to where I was going, turn the key to the off position, took the key out... AND THE CAR WAS STILL RUNNING!!! I had no idea what to do, so I drove home. When I got home parked in front of my house, turned the key and the car shut off. If anyone has any idea, please let me know. Thanks alot for any help.

Since your engine is "stock" as you web page indicates, you likely have a faulty ignition switch or switch linkage. If you had a carbureted engine, I'd suspect dieseling.

Dieseled?

Like it turned into a two-stroke engine all of a sudden? I know this is not what you mean, so please explain I have never heard the term before and am curious.

dieseling= Eng continues to run when ign is shut off.
This happens if there's something within the combustion chamber hot enough to ignite the fuel/air mixture. Bits of glowing carbon build-up are usually to blame.

It can be very destructive since the 'ign' is not timed. It can ignite the fuel/air mixture too early (while piston is still coming up), putting excessive stress on the bottom end.
Crankshafts have been known to break due to dieseling.

Only happens to carb'ed engs since fuel inj cars shut off the fuel and ign when shutdown.
