Code 44...
Code 44...
My car's been running really rough and crappy. I replaced the old, burned, rotten spark wires it had with some new accell 8mm yesterday.
Car runs only slightly better. I reset the ECM last night after doing the spark plugs, and after running for a while I got a check engine. Turns out to be a code 44, O2 sensor reports lean condition.
The guy at the parts store said that my old spark wires causing the car to run ****ty may have fouled up the O2 sensor with carbon causing it to report a fault, making my car run *** aweful. Would this make sense?
I replaced my O2 sensor only about a year ago... hmm... Could it be anything else?

I'd pull the O² and test it in a propane flame - or just replace it. If you don't have a lot of miles on the sensor in that year, you might just want to test it. Since it's been out recently and I KNOW you used anti seize compound, it should come right out with no problems.
Yup you know it!
I just replaced it,MUCH better, but still kind of rough. Im going to pull a spark plug and see what shape my plugs are in, andthrow a bottle of octane booster in and blow out some carbon... Old O2 sensor was just covered in carbon!
