Vortec head valve lift limit

First off, I'm going to go ahead and get this out of the way, I know someone is going to yell that I should have searched this topic first. I already have and I couldn't find it.

Now, on to my question. I've got a '98 Vortec headed 350 that I'm about to drop into my Trans Am. I'm about ready to order the cam for it. I know what duration and valve separation I'm looking for but I need to know how big on the lift I can go without clearance issues. If it matters, they are #906 castings.

I wouldn't go more than 0.460" without fear of crushing or cutting the positive stem seals. Since the engine isn't "dropped in" yet, you might want to pull the heads to machine the guides lower. It would also be a great time to convert to screwed studs.
