4 bolt roller cam 350

i want to get a 4 bolt, factory roller cam 350 short block for my next engine. how common are the 4 bolt roller cam 350s in junk yards and such. how about 2 bolt, i would like a 4 bolt because it might see 400-500hp and maybe more in the future, hopefully a blower but by then i might have a 427 or 454 small block so a 2 bolt would do if i couldn't find a 4 bolt.

not sure on the 4 bolts but 2 bolt rollers were used in f-bodies and corvettes from '87 and maybe in other fullsize cars, not sure. trucks went roller in the early 90s i think

Just remember that you will be somewhat restricted in the aftermarket, since you'll need a four-bolt cam and prob'ly four bolt rockers. Most of the SBC cams I've used only have three bolts. And forget about using a roller timing set. You'll want your timing drive to stay nice and flat as it moves around the sprockets, since too many rollers in one engine can cause a complete loss of friction and a runaway condition.

Not true. As long as you only torque down every other head bolt and pre-lube your fuel pump with vaseline you shouldn't have any problem at all

Oh, come on! We ALL know that we need to put ALL the covers back on ALL 16 valves. I know it's a lot of covers and bolts, but you can't leave 15 of the valves uncovered.

HA!!

Now, I have a '93 Z71 with a 350 and I was ASTOUNDED to find out when I pulled the intake to replace the leaking intake gaskets that my truck is NOT a roller 350. I was hoping to use it as a builder engine someday. Guess I'll have a non-roller builder, huh?

Damn...I didn't know those thieves had gotten all the way to GA too. A few months ago we had a big problem here in NY with guys stealing the rollers out of our 350s and dropping in their worn out hydraulics. I guess they got to you too ebmiller. Tough break man. Maybe you should call the GA state police, so they can start tracking these guys....
