oil pressure guage always reads max ?
the stocker has always read max pressure since ive owned the car, ive heard there are two things at the rearmost portion of the drivers side of the block, do i need to replace both ? One is the oil pressure sending unit, whats the other ?

Sounds to me like it might be your oil pressure/feul pump relay switch. It is located right above your oil filter. This seams to be what they do when they go bad. Pretty cheap too.

Could be the gauge or sending unit is bad, but it will also behave that way if it's unplugged. Look behind the distributor on the back of the block. (I bet if you search there's a picture of it on here somewhere.) It's a 1 or 3 prong connector ((not sure what year they changed).

You do not have a sensor at the back of your intake. The late model TPI thirdgens had a dual purpose sending unit located just above the oil filter. The sending unit varies voltage across two of the pins for your guage and the third pin is used as a low pressure kill switch. The guage pegs with 0 volts, hence you probably have a burned wire or a disconnected plug on the sending unit. Also check for a bent pin in the sending unit. Last thing is replace the sending unit if these other checks have passed.
