is hard to see

its hard to see from that picture.so im guessing that the little ball on the end went into the tube correct??so here are the possible causes

1. incorrect pushrod for cam application
2.incorrect valve adjustment(too tight)
3 coil bind
4 improper valve geometry

I know these aren't the best pics but has anyone ever seen this happen? It looks like the ball on the end of the pushrod is smashed down into the rod itself. The other end is normal and has the ball looking thing on it. Is this a defect from the factory? If it is then I've used it like this for over a year and a half. I put some new ones in the other day and the motor runs so much smoother than it ever has. I know that I was losing some lift over it. The pushrods are hardened chromoly from Crane.

They are the stock length and I've never had them too tight that I know of. The springs were setup for the cam and came with the cam kit so I don't think that is binding. Now the valve geometry could be the problem. I bought a pushrod length checker yesterday so I will check that. My main question is did it come from Crane this way? I probably didn't look at both ends of all the rods when I put the engine together. I will from now on.
