The other day my car overheated when the radiator drain plug broke and now after it warms up it dies when put in gear. It drives fine once your moving but will die if I come to a stop. My radiator was also leaking for like two days afterwards, but today it stopped leaking. But wait, there's more...if you call within the next 30 minutes we'll also throw in a passenger side fan that hasn't worked in like 3 months, but out of the blue decided to turn on today when the car was at like 130*. Only the pass. fan, not the driver's side fan. Then after shutting the car off and restarting it, i let it heat up to like 225* or whatever, when the fans come on, and like usual, only the drivers side fan came on. Any ideas? I think i'm gonna check it in to a loony bin on monday.

With the fans? Stuff that doesn't work and then does all of a sudden is usually ELECTRICAL

I have a multitude of those in the firebird I need to find and work out.

When your car dies, does it lean out ? Does spark go away? What?

 

the rpms drop and it stalls

 

First change your thermostat(for the fan thing, maybe).... Check the wires, change the old rad hoses and please tell me that your collant levels are ok.. Other than the rad, is the water pump ok?

Coolant levels are fine, water pump is not weeping, thermo is relatively new and opens when its supposed to
