throttle valve cable?

Engine: Currently building a 355
Transmission: 700r4
throttle valve cable?

if the throttle valve cable isnt adjusted right will it make my car sluggish on take off? in park motor revs greatbut go to take off and its a little sluggish get up to about 2 grand and it takes off like a demon getting splashed with holy water. l03 350 tpi cam carb swap (no tbi anymore) 10:1 comp shaved 58 cc heads 1.94/1.6 valves. thanx thomas

Transmission: 700R4
Axle/Gears: 3.45
It only affects when and how hard the transmission shifts.
If it's out of adjustment one way and you're light on the gas it will shift super early and softly and make the car feel slower.
The other way (pulled out more) will cause later, harder shifts.
