how do i fix the engine shutdown at 110?
when i hit 110 MPH, the engine shuts down and i was wondering how to get rid of this. i have a 92 5.0 RS with stock gearing...please help. thanks.
You can't really fix it because it's not a problem; the car was designed with a speed limiter. But, to work around it... you can either get a custom chip that disables it, or, you can disconnect the VSS by wiring a switch into the circuit. There's a tech article on the board telling how to do so. Just remember though, there's no logical explanation to a cop as to why a person needs to go over 110 mph, our cars tend to start to float at those speeds, and chances are your tires aren't rated to go that fast either.
