weiand stealth vs edelbrock rpm
weiand stealth vs edelbrock rpm
I am getting ready to order a new intake.I wanna know which one to get.
The motor is a 350 with a comp cams 270h cam.comp's lifters and double roller timing chain.Other than that. And an HEI with a 50,000 volt coil.I am also ordering a 600cfm edelbrock carb.
I don't have any experince with weiand intakes.I read good things about the in magazines.I wish I could afford an air gap.I can't though. So the choice is between the stealth or the performer rpm.
Any thoughts?

I'm happy with my Stealth, I'm sure the differences in power are minimal, however the Stealth advertises a wider powerband.
That's why I chose it.

I like the Weiand because everybody and their mother has Edelbrock crap. But i think i'm gonna go with an air-gap, its only $50 more.

The motor is in my 69 chevy truck. So hood clearance shouldn't be a problem.
So you think a 750 would be better.
Also the road demon jr carb is the same price as the edelbrock.Anyone have any experince with demon's.I don't like tuning. That is why I choose a edelbrock over a holley. Is this a wise move?

How much are you looking to spend on a manifold? I have a holley street dominator (idle-7200rpm) on my camaro. Very tall intake and its nice. I like it. That manifold and a holley street avenger carb wasnt to easy to fit under the stock hood tho. 2 inch element and a drop base and you have to slam the hood pretty hard to get it to close. Its gravy tho I will be getting a 3'' cowl soon

You mean a qaudrajunk?LOL j/k.I have never had any success with a qaudrajet.I had one on my sport coupe. And my buddy has one on his 86 cutlass.
You suggested a 750.I have always thought a 750 was for maybe a little more hopped up motor. The cams is pretty mild, stock heads, etc, etc. It will have a cam, intake, carb, headers, dual exhaust.I think a 600 should be alright.
I think I got my mind made up.I am going to go with the stealth intake and 600cfm edelbrock with electric choke.
I am tempted to get the airgap.Very tempted. But I am thinking I might take the intake and grind the weiand off and paint it orange and pass it off as a factory one.I am sure the headers and cam loping will give me away though.

I went with the RPM.The main reason being. To my suprise autozone had it in stock. And wasn't crazy priced.
I also went with the 600cfm electric choke.I also frequent a old truck furom and lots of people run this carb and have love them.
I know I might be losing a little power. But until I get some decent heads.I wont gain much anyway.
I just got done dropping the pan so I could reinstall the timing chain cover. What a PITA.I guess I am luckier than you guys.I read you got to pull the motor to drop the pan.
I am hoping to have her running tommorow.I am sure all you guys know how that goes.I got my fingers crossed.
