Bypassing the VATS on an 89 Iroc

I have a line on a 1989 Iroc. The one problem with the vehicle is that the owner lost the keys, replaced the key but not the chip in the key. Is there a way to bypass the VATS?

You may or may not recall, but it was decided at least two years ago that discussions regarding the bypassing of VATS systems are not allowed on the boards. I know there are many other places on the WWW that have the data and threads, but not here.

We can discuss how to diagnose and restore the system, but not disable it.
