Exhaust manifolds GLOWING CHERRY RED???

I have a stock 91 camaro 305 TBI. I noticed it while trying to discover what the problem is causing the car to lack power. I happened to looked down and the manifolds and they were glowing red hot. The car was not running no more than 5 minutes! What could cause this?

Thanks

Probably running way lean.....try richening the mixture up. That may help both problems as well as save the engine.

Have you done any work to it lately? Besides what was mentioned, check your cat and see if it's glowing too, may be clogged.

if you still have the CAT on, then most likely it's clogged.

I agree, get out the timing light and make sure it's not too advanced... your engine could be going into detonation. Is your car starting hard too? That's another dead giveaway for too much timing. If the car just started doing this all on its own, make sure the distributor hold down bolt didn't work its way loose over time. If that's OK, then chances are your cat is clogged. Just my 2 cents.
