Having first hand experience with this I can tell you that yes and no, depends on what you buy, most of the time the parts at your dealer are going to be better, but at the same time the prices can be rediculous, I have seen some excelent reman parts, Autolite starters and aleternators are the best, as for most things you get a warranty.

Delco parts are delco parts.
Unless somebody is re-boxing other parts as delco, they are the same.
A few years ago there was a rash of imitations using "Dilco" and "Dalco" sa brand names.

As stated above, Delco is delco.

You can get cheaper prices on the same stuff at local parts houses or wharehouses.

Delco parts are the same no matter where you buy them. Being that I work for a parts store, O'Reilly Auto Parts, that stocks and sells Delco parts I can assure you that if it comes in a Delco box then it's the exact same part you'd get from the dealer. We stock Reman. AC Delco starters and alternators among other things; same ones you can buy at the dealer.

Just because...

I used to work at an auto parts store where we sold Delco parts too. 2 of the warehouses we got the AC Delco stuff from also supplied parts to the local dealerships. Delco is delco, same same.

Oh, one other thing. Make sure to check the dealer price anyway, not everything is more expensive at the dealer...
