What mods should i do next??
I want to get my car in the 14's in the 1/4 mile, so what mods should I do next to my car. I have only been to the track once and my best time is in my signiture, but I also had a 2.5 60 foot time on that run...and when I ran the 15.5 my car was running really hot and I didnt have the shifter ,fan switch , and thermostat in my car then. Are 14's really that far away???i think with the mods i just did and a good launch i can break into the 14's...what do you guys think...any comments are welcome.
Thanks

Welcome to the board. I would do tthe exhaust first. If you can afford it go headers back or just get a cat-back system for now. Go 3" for sure. There will be a lot of different kinds out there to choose from and everyone on this board will have a success story to tell about their's. I went with Magnaflow and am happy with the sound not too loud at idle and just loud enough at wide open throttle. But there are a lot with Flowmaster and Dynomax that are very happy. You can also do the cheap and free stuff at the same time. Port your plenum, relocate you MAT, put an adjustable fuel pressure regulator in, gut your air box and put K&N's in there if you havent. That will pretty much get you started and I am sure others will join right in and tell you more. Any more q's just ask.

14's should only be a good launch, cooled down motor, and some decent traction away.
Put in an airfoil, K&N filter and exhaust and you should hit 14's no problem.

Yeah, I agree that exhaust mods should get you into the 14s for sure. Start with a good cat-back Hooker and Edelbrock are the best bang for the buck, when you do the cat-back at the same time (cost permitting) a good high flow converter from Random Technology. The cat-back system ($260-$280) and the Random Tech cat ($212 from TPIS) should get you a good .5 seconds off your 1/4 ET. Also, since your car is TPI, dont forget to do the free mods, they are explained in detail in the tech section of this site. If you want another .3 to .4 taken off your 1/4 and have an extra $320 to spend, invest in a set of the Edelbrock TES headers.
