Vader,
You replied to a post last night concerning help with my ignition switch replacement. I am not replacing the cylinder lock, I am replacing the electrical ignition switch that mounts down on the steering column under the dash. There is a cable assy that is connected to this switch that locks the shifter until the ignition is in the on position. I can't see how to release this assy from the ignition switch in order to remove the switch.
Thanks for your help,
Shawn

I'm not Vader and have no where near his experience, but I when I replaced my ignition switch 2 years ago I had to use a dremel to cut the plastic housing apart to get the park/lock cable out... you're replacing the switch anyway, so why not do it that way. IIRC you're supposed to find a little tab to push in to get the cable end to back out, but I for some reason that didn't work for me.
Also, make absolutely sure that you disconnect your battery while swapping that ignition switch out. I don't know if it had anything to do with it, but when I did mine, when I first started the car up after the swap I got a code 33 because I had fried the MAF sensor. Hope this helps.
