Use normal head gaskets. The steel shim gaskets are only good if you are trying to bump up a REALLy low compression motor, but if you have a motor already making 9:1 or more then its really not worth it. Maybe worth a few HP, nothing you'd feel, and all you'd end up doing is detonating the **** out of your motor. And FYI I found a MUCH cheaper alternative to the fel pro 1094s. Go to your local autostore and tell them you want steel shim head gaskets for a 1969 chevy pickup truck. They are the SAME exact thing minus the coating. Then all you do is use the Copper spray gasket and spray both sides.........and waalllaaaa fel pro 1094 except the truck steel shim's cost like $9 each! I would really go with a normal composite if I were you though. My friend had a motor built similar to mine and with a 100 shot of nitrous he blew a leak in his 1094s.

Thanks for the info. I don't think detonation will be a problem on aluminum heads. It's just I already had these gaskets in the garage so I wanted to use them. I like the trick with the truck gaskets. That would be a good way to go. If anyone else has any more info I'd like to here from you.
