need hood and header panel for 87 base model.. will that off of a 84 base model work? the interchange books say no, but everything looks like it should mount up the same...

 

I am not sure what you are calling a header panel, but the hoods are interchangable. All 3rd gen Camaro hoods interchange, it is just a matter of what little extras like louvers you have. 3rd gen cars have a great parts interchangability, if it looks the same chances are it is the same.

 

header panel being the front peice, plastic fascia, grill, headlight buckets, honeycomb and the metal underbumper...

 

do not believe the manuals. They say no because technically the LOOK has changed. But they will all bolt in.
