i have an 88 camaro with a locked up motor, i just bought a 2.8 that came out of an 89 RS, will I have to change the computers? or can i just plug all the sensors and wires back where i pulled em?

and if i do have to change the computers, can i use the old wiring? just simply unplug old computer and plug in new one? or is it not that simple?


88 Camaro has a 2.8 MPFI, 5 Speed
89 Camaro RS has a 2.8 MPFI, 700 R-4

any more info needed on the cars lemme know.

Direct swap..just plug it back in.... no need to swap the ECM.

I would check to see if the chip is different for the auto/manual??

 

As far as I know, its the same...someone correct me if I'm wrong...and I know you will...Tell ya what Mshrmhd, send TomP a PM he is a guru with the 2.8... ..but I think it will be fine.
