Would this cam cause vacuum problems?
Comp Cams 305-8 220/230 duration, .510/.510 lift, 114 LSA.
I am getting a code 33 (high MAP) and cannot trace a vaccum leak. All of my lines are new, and the rubber connectors are good.
I can't find any leaks between the intake-adapter-tbi.
I do have the climate control problem, where it stays in defrost even when i have it in the vent position. Sometimes the vent will work for limited periods of time.
Anyways, Could this cam cause such problems? At idle, the MAP is around 50 per WinALDL. Thank you, Roy

no.. not really
its used on lt1s with n/p
Idle should be 800 minimum..
spray some carb cleaner around the intake gaskets when its running to see if the rpm changes.

You plainly have very low vacuum.
Sounds to me like you need some more timing at idle, and other general chip programming and tuning. That's not a particularly huge cam, I think that fixing the problem is well within the range of reprogramming. Get yourself some PROM burning equipment.
