LT4 Hot Cam
LT4 Hot Cam
I was recently looking through my Scoggin Dickey catalog and was looking for a good cam for my 305. I don't really want to spend $250+ for a hydraulic roller cam but the LT4 Hot Cam is only $175. Is this a good cam? I plan on doing some basic pocket porting on my stock heads. I have a Flowmaster cat-back and stock TBI. I want to do the Ultimate TBI mods and put in some new 9.5:1 pistons while the engine is apart also.
Is there some way I can buy a new intake manifold and still use the TBI? I can't seem to find any info on that.
Thanks for the help!!

Don't waste your time on the stock TBI heads. Pocket porting is of little or no value, because of the giant lump of material the factory put there to make the mixture "swirl". Get a set of 87-up TPI/L69/LG4 heads, and pocket port those instead.
You can use almost any 4-barrel carb manifold. They make TBI-to-4-barrel adapters. All you have to watch out for is the 87-up bolt pattern, and hood clearance.
