How do you install new foglights?

Both my foglights are shot. I need new ones. How would I go about putting new ones in? Is the wiring is easy?

My Trans Am is a 1990, but I think yours is probably the same. You dont need the whole foglight, just new bulbs. The front lens is held on with two torx screws, just take it off and you can replace the bulbs. I think I paid around 7 or 8 bux for one when one of mine went out. Any auto parts store should have them. If you have the same style foglights as I do, then that is all you need.

Replacing the bulbs are pretty easy. My advice would be to go with xenon filled bulbs. They burn brighter and work a heck of a lot better than the factory ones. You can find them on ebay for like $10. All you need to do is unscrew the plates surrounding the foglights and the glass fixture pops right out. Be careful when replacing the bulbs because if you touch the lenses, the grease or oil from your fingers can actually burn onto the bulbs because they get very hot. This will cause them to fry. The bulbs pop into the metal plate that comes out with the glass cover and there are two wires that plug in. One is the power and the other is the ground wire. Make sure you crimp the wires into place or they will jostle as you ride and you'll have to reconnect them again if they come loose. A pair of pliers will work here. Once you get them in it's easy to put the glass and the support pieces back into place. Good luck with this.
