Last week I finally got a chance to take my car to the dragstrip and log some data. The thing that's been bothering me is the amount of knock counts that the sensor picks up... as many as 50 counts by the end of the run (including burnout). It retards as much as 10* of timing. I don't see how I could be getting any false knock but at the same time I don't hear any signs of knocking. One thing that I noticed is that out of the seven runs I got in that night, the knock counts reduced every run. That tells me that something affected it -- be it temperature, air density, etc. The car has an ADS SuperChip that the previous owner installed (soon to be removed). I don't think that ADS modified any spark tables. My base timing is set at 6*, where is should be.
