AFPR by crane cams,where does the shim go??

AFPR by crane cams,where does the shim go??

iam installin it it my ta 5.0 tpi and my wife threw the instrutions out (aaaargh!!) on accident. i got it off no problem. it comes with a new housing (it has the adjustment screw in it) a little torx tool and a nickel sized shim. where does the shim go? at the top under the adjustment screw? or at the bottom where the little swivel is near the fuel line?? thanxs ahead for the info.... later ed

if your talkin about the quarter looking thing, it goes at the top under the screw
i read from someone that with the crane afpr you might have to shave down that screw, its too long and hits the top of the plenum.

It does go at the top under the cap, on top of the spring assembly. I have the same regulator on my 5.0, and the screw was too long for me, it got into the side of the plenum, which was just not a good thing, and made it impossible to adjust. I used a belt grinder to take a few enough off the bottom of the screw so that it fit under the plenum.

I recomend to leave it out, it makes the screw way too long and without the screw even pushing in, the lowest fp I could get was 48 psi... without the shim I have much more range. I do have an after market fuel pump though.

thanks... what pressure u guys at? and was it a worthwhile mod? did u feel a diff?
