car wont start

ATTN : vader

my motor starts to crank but as soon as the first bit of juice hits it it drains the battery and the volts goto zero....you go back on the key outta ignition and the volts got back up but only to 12

Benny,

There are a couple of common possibilities:

1. The battery is sulfated and has no reserve capacity. A load test will determine whether that is the problem;

2. You have a marginal connection at the battery, ground, or starter (more likely). What happens to the interior lights when you crank the engine?

allready tried raplacing the battery......i dunno bout the lights cuz i aint got a bulb in the dome or anything but my amp and volt meter go to 0 when the starter tries to kick in

ok i just checked and the interior lights stay on even when i crank it and the volts goto zero

I'd start by inspecting the connections at the starter,including the fusible links. You have a marginal connection there somewhere. You should also inspect the grounds at the inner fender and firewall.
